NYC Half Marathon 2015
NYC Half Marathon 2015 Finisher — Congrats to Gold Key Founder Lisa for finishing her first race ever with the 2015 United Airlines New York City Half Marathon! She completed the 13.1 miles in 2:24:11–6 minutes under her goal!
The race is part of the New York Road Runners Five-Borough Series that features a half marathon in each borough leading up to the full marathon in November. The Manhattan race course took Lisa through the rolling hills of Central Park, down 7th Avenue to an emptied-out Times Square, along the West Side Highway, and finished in the historic Financial District.
Staying healthy and being fit is essential in looking and feeling your best. Inspired by her family and friends, Lisa trained throughout the dead of winter for the race by balancing a protein-heavy diet (with some serious carbo-loading just before the race) with a steady increase of milage in her practice runs. Having only run about five miles before training for this race, Lisa’s achievement this weekend shows just how much you can do if you set out to accomplish something.
We are so excited for Lisa, but “what’s next?” you may ask her… “Bring it on, Brooklyn!”
